2005 Jun 13 - Murray withdraws from Nottingham
Andrew Murray has been forced to withdraw from the Nottingham Open due to the ankle injury sustained during his
match against Thomas Johansson at Queen's Club last week. He said:
"It was a close call but as there is a slight inflammation still, I have been advised to limit my time
on court for the next two days.
"I'm very disappointed to miss the opportunity to play at Nottingham - I heard it's a great tournament."
The rest is essential if he is to be fit for the Wimbledon Championships starting on the 20th June. He added:
"I am really looking forward to playing at Wimbledon."
Ironically, Andrew had been drawn against Thomas Johansson in his opening round match in Nottingham, so avenging
the defeat at Queen's will have to wait.
