2005 Apr 12 - Henman out of Monte-Carlo
Tim Henman crashed 6-4 4-6 6-2 to Argentine Mariano Zabaleta in the first round of the prestigious
Tennis Masters Monte-Carlo event.
After dropping the first set only three games were played in the second before a rain delay ended proceedings
for the day.
The British No.1 started well as play resumed and snatched a decisive break to level the match and at this point
looked favourite to take victory.
In the final set errors then crept into the Henman game and these proved to be costly as he found himself
down a double break and out of the match.
After the match a disappointed Tim said:
"Today I felt that I was dictating a little bit," he said afterwards.
"But on clay you have to make the most of these momentum swings."
But the disappointment didn't end there as Tim and his Swiss doubles partner Yves Allegro were defeated 6-3 6-1
by Argentine Mariano Hood and the German Michael Kohlmann.
