2005 Mar 24 - Rusedski through in Miami
Greg Rusedski eased past Italian qualifier Andreas Seppi 4-6 6-4 6-4 in the first round of the NASDAQ-100 Open
in Miami.
In the first set Greg failed to take advantage of ten break point opportunities and this proved costly
as quickly found himself a set down.
A rain delay followed and this appeared the help the British No.2 as he snatched the only break of the second set
to level the match 1-1.
In the final set Greg was pushed all the way by the Italian and had to save two break points on his way to
seeing out the match.
After the match Greg said:
"Some days you can have good weather and some days you can have bad weather, so you've just got to learn how to
fight the elements.
"I managed to find a way to get through. That's what tennis is about, winning matches when you're in a little bit
of trouble."
In the second round Greg will face the useful Swede Thomas Johansson. They have met on ten previous occasions
with the Swede taking a 6-4 lead but Greg won their most recent match earlier this year at the RCA Championships
in Indianapolis, USA.
