2005 Mar 24 - Murray defeated in Italy
Andrew Murray was humbled 6-2 6-1 by the fifth seed Italian Alessio di Mauro in the second round of the
IX Torneo Internazionale de Tennis Challenger event in Barletta, Italy.
This was the first senior tournament for the reigning US Open boys champion and represents the start of his
transition from the junior ranks.
Andrew came through two qualification matches, against German Maximilian Abel and Italian Giancarlo
Petrazzuolo, to reach the main draw.
In the first round he defeated Frenchman Arnaud Di Pasquale in straight sets 6-4 7-5 before meeting his
match in world 138 ranked Alessio di Mauro.
