2005 Mar 18 - Henman out of Pacific Open
Tim Henman crashed in straight sets to Argentine Guillermo Canas 7-6(1) 7-5 in the quarter-finals of
the Pacific Life Open at Indian Wells, USA
It was another slow start from the British No.1 who was unable to get his serve going but managed to hold on
and force a tie-break - which the Argentine dominated from the outset to take 7-1.
Despite a better start to the second set and breaking to lead 4-3, Tim was unable to consolidate and was broken back
immediately. The Argentine then applied more pressure to the Henman serve once more with the same success and took the
set 7-5.
After the match Tim said:
"I think it's pretty disappointing the way I played.
"I feel like my style should suit me well playing against him, but my level throughout was just not good enough.
"I just thought the execution of a lot of shots was just poor. It was as simple as that."
