2005 Feb 18 - Henman defeated by Ancic
Tim Henman was humbled by Croatian Mario Ancic 7-6(5) 7-6(4) in the quarter-finals of the World Tennis event
in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
After the match Tim said:
"It's disappointing but most importantly I feel that to be competing, and feeling as good physically out there
as I was, is a great sign for me.
"Mentally there were a few lapses of concentration. Maybe that comes down to lack of match practice.
"But in the big picture it's been a really good week for me.
"Ancic can generate so much power with limited effort and that's tough to deal with.
"With two tie-breaks it's always going to come down to a couple of points and credit to him, he took them."
The 6'5" Croatian tennis star takes his win/loss record over Henman to 2-0 and has yet to drop a set to the
British No.1. They last met in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon 2004.
