2005 Jan 05 - Rusedski defeated in Qatar
Greg Rusedski was unable to cope with the brilliance of Roger Federer as he crashed 6-3 6-4 in
the second round of the Qatar Exxon Mobil Open.
The British No.2 was broken for 2-0 in the first set and 4-3 in the second and was unable to respond
despite the Swiss not performing to his full potential.
After the match Greg said:
"I am not disappointed. I lost to the world's number one player.
"Now I move on to Australia where I plan to play in a couple of tournaments before the Australian Open."
Roger Federer added:
"It was a good day out there for me but I know I can play better that I did today.
"The important thing is that I didn't lose my serve. I took the opportunities that came my way and I felt
quite comfortable on this surface."
