2004 Oct 11 - Rusedski topples Karlovic

Greg Rusedski defeated the 6'10" Croatian Ivo Karlovic in straight sets 7-6 (14) 6-2 in the Kremlin Cup in Moscow, Russia.

In a tight first set dominated by serve with neither player giving an inch an obligatory tie-break followed. It was the Greg who jumped on a mini-break well into the breaker to take it 16-14.

Momentum was with the British No.2 as he broke the Croatian in the sixth game of the second set and then finished the game with another break in the last game.

Next up for Greg will be the 24-year-old Italian Filippo Volandri who he has not met before.
