2004 Jul 27 - Henman ready for Toronto Masters
Following on from a disappointing quarter-final Wimbledon exit, Tim Henman is set to face
Argentine Mariano Zabaleta in the first found of the Tennis Masters Toronto event in Canada today.
Of the forthcoming tournament, Tim told his personal website:
"I'm confident in my own ability and I still have some major goals I want to achieve
between now and the end of the year.
"I played well in Indian Wells and I enjoyed success last year in America by winning
in Washington, so there's no reason I can't do well in Toronto.
"Having not played a match since Wimbledon the first round is going to be important.
"If I can get a match under my belt then things could hopefully get interesting after that."
Tim and Mariano have met on 7 previous occasions, with the Argentine leading 4-3. Mariano may have
won their last match in Rome 2004 but it was on clay. Toronto is a hard court event and of the 4 times
these players have met on hard courts it is Tim who has won the last 3 matches.
