2004 Mar 11 - Rusedski relieved at verdict
Greg Rusedski cleared his name following his highly controversial positive
drug test and today he could barely find the words to describe his overwhelming relief.
Of the verdict Greg said:
"You cannot imagine what the last six months have been like.
"It has been horrendous and like a roller-coaster ride. I'm just relieved they
came to the right decision.
"I found out by telephone late on Tuesday night.
"At that moment I couldn't feel anything, I couldn't believe it. It is hard to
describe, it's just so emotional."
With the ATP tribunal going in favour of the British No.2 there is the possibility
Greg will pursue legal action against the ATP to seek damages.
Mark Gay - Greg's appointed Lawyer - commented:
"Greg hasn't had a chance to think about legal action.
"He hasn't ruled it in, but nor has he ruled it out.
"Greg will hold a news conference on Tuesday by which time he will have had a
few more days to think about things."
Greg will now take time off to consider his next move and has not penned in his next
competitive event, although he is looking forward to the Wimbledon Championships. Greg added:
"I can't wait to get on that Centre Court in front of all the British public.
"I just want to give something back and do really well."
