2003 Aug 27 - US Open: Henman beaten by Roddick
Tim Henman was unable to negotiate his way around No.4 seed Andy Roddick in the first round of the US Open,
losing in straight sets 6-6 7-6(2) 6-3 in the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
The match was closer than the scoreline suggests, but it was always the American who had the upper hand
with his power play.
As Greg Rusedski went out in the first round of the US Open yesterday, we have no further
British interest in the tournament. Although we have good reason to support No.9 seed Daniela Hantuchova
because of her British coach Nigel Sears! Daniela is set to face Julia Vakulenko (UKR) in the second round.
