This year will see a significant number of big names missing from the Wimbledon Championships. The list includes:

• Pete Sampras - declined invitation / still contemplating retirement.
• Goran Ivanisevic - injured.
• Richard Kraijcek - injured.
• Anna Kournikova - injured.
• Marat Safin - injured.
• Amelie Mauresmo - injured.
• Albert Costa - injured.
• Tommy Haas - injured.
• Marcelo Rios - injured.
• Alex Corretja - wife recently gave birth.
• Thomas Johannson - injured.
• Magnus Norman - injured
• Martina Hingis - retired from tennis.

Ironically, no less than three ex-Wimbledon Champions will be missing : Sampras, Ivanisevic, and Kraijcek.
