2003 May 26 - Baltacha all clear for Wimbledon

Elena Baltacha has been cleared by medical staff to play at Wimbledon.

A congenital liver condition has been the cause of much concern, but a leading liver specialist says that playing tennis is not a risk to Elena's health.

Coach Alan Jones said:

It has been a very frustrating and worrying time for her, but she lacks nothing in determination and it will take a lot more than this to get her down."
