2003 May 13 - Rusedski injury problems continue
Greg Rusedski was straight back on the injury table before his comeback match even started.
The Zagreb Open tournament was meant to be a gentle introduction back into the world of
competitive tennis following a nine month spell out through injury. However, Greg sustained a
fresh injury during practice, shortly before he was set to face Marc Lopez of Spain.
A tournament PR officer said:
"During practice yesterday he experienced pain in the fifth and sixth vertebrae
which led to pain in his chest when serving and on his forehand.
"He had treatment and began warming up two hours before today's match but decided not to risk the injury.
"He said it was the second time in his career he has had this type of injury and he was very sorry
not to be able to play."
