2003 March 12 - Henman secures first win since injury
Tim Henman beat American Jan-Michael Gambill (7-5 6-2) in the Pacific Life Open Masters Series at Indian Wells
to claim his first win since the shoulder operation.
After the match, Tim said:
"To be playing someone like him, at the opposite end of the confidence
spectrum, with him coming off a tournament win and I without a single win, wasn't going to be easy.
"When you're not confident, you've got to do the simple things well. Certainly you're not going
to get carried away with one win, but it's a start."
The Argentinian Agustin Calleri is up next in the second round.
