2002 December 27 - Hewitt shocked at Rusedski withdrawal
Lleyton Hewitt can't understand why Greg Rusedski can pull out of the Davis Cup tie against Australia in February
when he has indicated he will be fit to play at the Qatar Open in January.
Lleyton says:
"I struggle to see how a guy can pull out and say he is injured and then play in
Doha on Monday," Hewitt said.
"It is very weird and I am sure the British people are a little shocked with it all,
and I am sure the team is very disappointed.
"Potentially it could be a fantastic week of tennis if we have myself and Mark
Philippoussis playing against Rusedski and Tim Henman. When the draw for the first
round came out, I thought it was the toughest draw you could get."
